It’s the first IT project of Prestige Group, which has IT towers in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, in Kerala.
Prestige Group, one of the leading property developers in India that has developed IT complexes in major Indian cities, has launched construction of its IT project in SmartCity Kochi. The construction work of Prestige Group’s first IT project in Kerala was launched by Irfan Razack, Chairman and Managing Director, at a function in SmartCity on Wednesday.
In SmartCity, the Bengaluru-based company will develop two IT towers with a total built-up area of 12 lakh sq. ft. in an area of 8 acres of land. The project is developing at an investment of Rs. 300 crores. The project, which is expected to be completed in 2.5 years, will create over 10000 jobs when fully occupied. The company presently has IT towers in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. Its clientele include leading corporate entities like JP Morgan Chase, Oracle, Nokia and Airtel.
Speaking on the company’s decision to launch IT project in Kerala, Irfan Razack said that Kerala has huge potential in the IT sector and the company looks forward to tap it. “The area has good infrastructure and the extension of metro will provide further boost. The social infrastructure has also witnessed drastic improvement. However, the state’s main advantage is its competing human resources,” he said. He added that as SmartCity brings IT companies under one roof, it will provide a great boost for the state’s IT sector.
Talking about the project, Manoj Nair, CEO, SmartCity Kochi, said, “With this groundbreaking, the city will witness another one plus million square feet of state-of-the-art commercial buildings coming which is also indicative of the trust and confidence reposed by our co-developers in the State of Kerala and in the long term vision of SmartCity Kochi. We are on track to achieve over 6 Million SqFt of IT space by 2021. With other co-developers also in the design and planning phase of their projects, these developments are providing us the required impetus to attract investors to participate in other features and elements of the integrated township model of SmartCity Kochi”
